Job DescriptionCurrently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist inpatient, rehabilitation and low secure service providing high-quality care for men and women with complex mental health needs. You'll be working across a modern 72-bed centre consisting of acute, rehabilitation, ASD and low secure wards, delivering dedicated clinical leadership within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Salary: £160,000 – £175,000 DOE Position: Consultant Psychiatrist Hours: Full-time (0.6 WTE clinical caseload allocation) Setting: Inpatient, rehabilitation and low secure mental health service Location: Widnes, Northwest (near Liverpool, Manchester & Chester)

Your key responsibilities will be:

Provide RC responsibilities and consultant psychiatric input to inpatient services

Manage a caseload of 8–12 patients depending on ward need

Participate in a low-frequency regional second-on-call rota

Assess new referrals and support safe, appropriate admissions

Lead MDT clinical practice and contribute to governance and service development

Maintain strong relationships with community teams and commissioners

Support training, supervision and education within the service

For this role, we're looking for someone who has:

MRCPsych or recognised equivalent qualification

CCT in General Adult, Forensic, LD Psychiatry or Psychotherapy desirable

Full GMC registration and recent annual appraisal

Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status

Experience supporting patients with complex needs in MDT settings
