The role requires expertise in accounting and finance to manage capital projects and ensure compliance with financial regulations.Client Details The organisation is a very reputable public sector entity based in Cardiff, known for its structured and professional environment. It offers a supportive working atmosphere and is committed to delivering high-quality services.Description Attention all qualified Accountants.Main Responsibilities Maintenance of the Fixed asset register - including changes to locations, asset owners, disposals and write offs, impairmentsAged AUC reviews and depreciation reviews - confirming the charges have been allocated correctly and value is correctPerforming asset verification, either via physical site visits or via team meetings, to confirm the assets are still in useUndertake impairment reviews of assetsAttend Project Review Meetings, provide SME advice on accounting treatmentContribute to reporting processes to ensure the financial position and performance of different sections of the Group is understood and key issues are rectified, ensuring appropriate process is observed with control over sub ledgers and integration with the general ledgerManage the accurate recording of transactions in the ERP general ledger, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls and improving efficiency and controls of financial processes, methodologies and environments where possibleSupport the efficient delivery of internal and external audits (including preparation of annual reports and other external reporting requirements)Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders including our outsourced partner, other finance teams, divisional and group stakeholders where appropriateA Successful Temp Capital Accountant Should Have Hold a professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalentHave significant experience of delivering a high-quality accounting service.Experience of accounting for capital projects / working within a capital accounting team would be highly beneficialPossess highly developed communication skills with the ability to influence.Be able to take complex data/principles and to communicate these in an understandable way to wider BBC team, both finance and non-financeHave knowledge of the theory and practical application of accounting principles and controls.Possess advanced excel and modelling skills, in relation to key finance informationBe able to demonstrate strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectivelyJob Offer Competitive daily rate of £250 - £300 per day via an umbrella companyHybrid working arrangement for a flexible work-life balance.Opportunity to gain experience in the public sector.Supportive and structured working environment.Seniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type TemporaryJob function Accounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustries AccountingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at ACCA Careers by 2xGet notified about new Temporary Accountant jobs in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom .
