Overview Clothing Manufacturers UK – London is a full-service fashion manufacturing studio working with both start-up designers and established fashion brands. Our in-house services include design development, pattern cutting, fabric and trims sourcing, sampling and product development, production management, and quality control and finishing. All garments are developed and manufactured in-house at our London studio and factory, offering students genuine exposure to professional fashion production.What You Will Be Doing Pattern Cutting & Sampling Tasks Making patterns from an initial sketch or technical drawingCreating initial patterns from scratch and developing toilesMaking pattern amendments after fittings or correctionsMaking blocks for different garment categoriesCopying existing patterns accuratelyCutting your patterns onto fabric for toile/sample creationFactory & Production Experience Supporting the QC team with garment checking, measurement accuracy, and ensuring all pieces meet client standardsHelping garments get ready for packing and delivery, including steaming, folding, tagging, and organising pieces for shipmentAssisting with fabric cutting and understanding how lay plans and markers are used in productionObserving and assisting in garment finishing, pressing, cleaning, and packagingLearning how the factory floor operates, from sampling to bulk productionDeveloping teamwork, communication, and workflow skills in a professional manufacturing environmentWhat You Will Learn / What We Will Teach You Pattern Cutting Skills How to manipulate blocks to create new patternsHow to drape on the stand and convert your drape into a working patternHow to cut fabric correctly across various fabric types, including applying fusing to the correct pattern piecesHow to amend patterns after a garment fitting, applying technical and practical correctionsThe difference between patterns for woven garments vs. Stretch garmentsGarment Construction & Studio Experience How professional patterns are created, copied, and adjusted inside a working studioThe basics of garment fitting, sizing, and alterationsQuality control standards and why precision is essentialHow fabrics and samples are prepared for manufacturingThe full journey from initial design concept to a finished, production-ready garmentHow a fashion studio and production factory operate day-to-dayHours 8:30am – 4:00pm1-hour lunch breakPlacement Length 3 months – 12 months (depending on student availability and course requirements)Application Requirements Please attach your CV and cover letter.
