Contract Type:TemporaryHours:Full timeDisability Confident:YesClosing Date:06/03/2026About this job Job Title: Tutor (Maternity Cover) Job Reference: 101236 Closing Date: 4 March 2026 Interview Date: TBC We have an exciting opportunity for a Tutor to join Landau on a 12-month, term-time only fixed-term contract.This role offers the opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people who may have faced significant challenges, supporting them to develop skills, confidence and qualifications for their future.The Tutor will deliver engaging, inclusive learning to small groups through Landau's education programmes, including Functional Skills English and Maths, Personal and Social Development (PSD) and Employability qualifications from Entry Level to Level2. Delivery will be creative, learner-centred and responsive to individual needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete an application form following CV submission.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver high-quality, differentiated programmes that meet learner needs, including EHCP outcomesDeliver accredited learning (ASDAN Employability, PSD, Functional Skills English and Maths)Plan engaging sessions and resources aligned to awarding body requirementsComplete initial assessments, inductions and ongoing progress reviewsMonitor learner progress against Individual Learning Plans and provide effective feedbackSupport learners' personal, social and emotional development, confidence and positive behaviourPrepare learners for external assessments and examinationsDeploy and manage Learning Support Assistants effectivelyMaintain accurate learner records, registers and course documentationContribute to internal verification, moderation and quality assurance activitiesDeliver enrichment, tutorials and high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG)Support work placements in partnership with the Project CoordinatorLiaise with parents/carers, employers and stakeholders as appropriateChampion safeguarding, equality, British values and PreventWork collaboratively within the Landau delivery team and engage in CPD Person Specification Qualifications & TrainingTeaching qualificationEMaths and English at Level 2 minimumEAssessor / Verifier / IQA or degree in relevant subjectD ExperienceTeaching Functional Skills and/or EmployabilityEWorking with learners with additional needs or EHCPsDTeam leadership or staff managementDSafeguarding and/or First AidE Skills & AttributesCreative, learner-focused and motivatingEStrong employability knowledgeEGood IT and administrative skillsD Personal QualitiesStrong commitment to learner successEExcellent organisation, reliability and time-keepingE Safeguarding & OtherCommitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adultsEEnhanced DBS requiredECommitment to Equality, Diversity and InclusionEAbility to travel between Landau sitesE Hours: 30 per week (term time only) Salary: £18,964.73 - £23,341.20 (£27,300 - £33,600 FTE) Contract: Fixed term until April 2027 Location: Stoke Equality, Covenants & DBS Landau is committed to equality and inclusion.Guaranteed interviews are offered under the Crisis Homelessness Alliance, Disability Confident Scheme, and Armed Forces Covenant, subject to meeting minimum criteria.This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
