Class 1 Driver

Job description

I am currently recruiting class 1 drivers for my client in Belfast.

• Monday to Friday
• 42.5 hours per week
• Hourly Rate: £17 per hour
• 7.30am to 5.00pm
• Early starts, occasional overtime and weekend work may be required
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

The role will involve:

Driving & Operations

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle to complete daily waste collections, including commercial, industrial, and environmental waste streams.
• Ensure safe loading, transportation and tipping of waste materials.
• Complete daily route sheets, delivery notes and digital records accurately.
• Report vehicle defects immediately and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Sort and segregate waste as necessary to comply with recycling and disposal regulations.

Essential

• Valid HGV Class 1 license
• Valid CPC card
• Digital Tachograph card
• Experience in driving large goods vehicles

Desirable

• Previous experience in waste management, recycling, drainage, tanker operations or environmental services
• ADR certification (Packages or Tankers)
• Ability to operate lifting equipment, bin lifts, suction/vacuum tankers, or other specialist vehicles (training can be provided)
