Dalkia Engineering - Senior Technical Manager


We are a leading provider of M&E engineering solutions across the UK, delivering complex projects within healthcare, nuclear, defence, government, leisure, industrial and infrastructure sectors.


We’re looking for a Senior Technical Manager to lead the technical setup and pre‑construction phase of complex M&E/Building Services projects. You’ll ensure projects are technically sound, de risked, and aligned with commercial, digital and compliance requirements before moving to site delivery. You’ll work closely with bid teams, design consultants, commercial teams, clients, supply chain partners and our digital engineering specialists — acting as a key technical leader within Dalkia’s wider technical community.


What You’ll Do


Technical Leadership

  • Own technical strategy and the pre‑construction technical deliverables plan
  • Lead design reviews, gateway checks and de‑risking activities
  • Ensure coordinated designs aligned with RIBA/BSRIA frameworks
  • Integrate value engineering and lessons learned

Compliance & Governance

  • Uphold Dalkia’s safety culture and the Dalkia Way
  • Ensure compliance with CDM, Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
  • Lead technical bid responses, clarifications and derogations

Leadership & People

  • Manage Technical Managers and junior technical staff
  • Support competency growth and continual professional development

Stakeholder & Consultant Management

  • Coordinate technical inputs across internal teams and external partners
  • Manage TIDPs, consultant scopes and deliverables
  • Build strong client and supply chain relationships

Digital Engineering

  • Use Revizto, Navisworks and Asite (CDE)
  • Support ISO 19650 processes and encourage new tech/AI adoption

Net Zero & Sustainability

  • Embed low‑carbon solutions and align with Dalkia’s Net Zero objectives
  • Support BREEAM, WELL, NABERS and sustainability performance targets

Commercial Awareness

  • Understand commercial impacts of technical decisions
  • Align proposals, ERs, changes and consultant scopes

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (BEng/MEng/MSc)
  • Professional registration (IEng/CEng) or working towards
  • Broad experience in M&E/MEP engineering delivery
  • Comfortable managing projects with £5–50M MEP value
  • Sector experience ideally including healthcare, commercial, leisure or MoD/MoJ
