Principal Sales Executive - Equity Sales

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Sales Executive with extensive experience of working within an Investment Bank, Exchange, Broker or ELP to drive the Equities sales strategy across a prestigious client portfolio in London.
This is a senior commercial role responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with Investment Banks, Broker Dealers, and Electronic Liquidity Providers, whilst driving revenue growth and market share across equity products.
You will serve as a thought leader and equity specialist, working with C-suite decision makers to understand client needs and deliver innovative trading solutions that drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with key decision makers and influencers at an assigned portfolio of Investment Banks, Broker Dealers, and Electronic Liquidity Providers
- Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with senior management to understand client needs and align with product offerings
- Network with key contacts across the industry, influencing senior leadership at client organisations
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Own short- and long-term equity sales strategy for assigned London-based clients
- Achieve revenue and market share targets by increasing trading activity per account
- Create demand for new equity and equity derivative products by raising their profile and generating sales leads
- Drive product adoption across custom basket solutions, mid-point execution, and streaming liquidity offerings
Thought Leadership & Problem Solving
- Demonstrate thought leadership in driving improvements to existing sales processes and best practices
- Resolve complex client challenges where precedent may not exist
- Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results
- Leverage strategic priorities to determine optimal approaches for client engagement and revenue generation
Strategic Influence
- Serve as an equity specialist with considerable depth of knowledge
- Influence product development and commercial strategy based on client feedback and market intelligence
- Represent the organisation at industry events and client forums
Essential Skills & Experience
Industry Experience
- 8+ years of experience at a Bank, Broker, ELP (Electronic Liquidity Provider), Exchange, or MTF (Multilateral Trading Facility)
- Deep understanding of Equity markets, products, and trading workflows
- Strong knowledge of the financial services industry and competitive landscape
- General knowledge of the Asset Management industry
Regulatory & Technical Knowledge
- Strong regulatory background including MiFID II requirements and best execution frameworks
- Understanding of equity trading structures, market microstructure, and execution strategies
- Superior command of MS Office applications and Salesforce CRM
Sales & Commercial Acumen
- Proven track record achieving revenue and market share targets in institutional sales
- Experience selling complex financial products to sophisticated institutional clients
- Abiliy to create demand for new products and generate sales leads

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree ideally in Economics, Finance, IT, or Business
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSc Finance) desirable but not essential
