Learning Support Assistant | LSA | ASD | SEN | ABA | PECS | Makaton | Nailsea | North Somerset | £95£110 per day

A supportive and inclusive school in Nailsea, North Somerset is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with Autism (ASD).

This is a full-time role starting ASAP and would suit someone with experience working in SEN, particularly supporting children with additional communication and behavioural needs.

The Role ASD Learning Support Assistant

• Full-time LSA position
• Supporting pupils with Autism (ASD)
• 1:1 and small group support
• Implementing EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning

Experience or knowledge of the following is highly desirable:

• ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis)
• PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
• Makaton
• Structured behaviour support strategies
• Communication-led interventions

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker
• Previous experience supporting children with ASD
• Calm, patient and consistent approach
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for supporting pupils with additional needs

This role would suit experienced LSAs, SEN specialists, psychology graduates, or candidates with a background in care or behavioural support.

Salary

• £95 £110 per day (dependent on experience)
• Opportunity for a permanent position
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
