About the roleWe're looking for an Accounts Payable Team Member to join our HR Shared Services function in Newcastle. You'll play a key role in supporting the business by ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, while delivering a high standard of customer service to both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Working as part of a collaborative Accounts Payable team, you'll be responsible for processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, resolving queries, and supporting efficient end‐to‐end payment processes.
What you'll be doing
Processing supplier invoices in line with agreed processes and procedures
Supporting paperless invoice submission and managing any paper invoice exceptions
Accurately processing manual invoices, including correct coding and approvals
Processing three‐way match invoices by matching invoices to purchase orders and goods receipts
Ensuring supplier accounts are paid in line with agreed payment terms
Investigating and resolving invoice and purchase order mismatches in collaboration with Procurement and business teams
Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving discrepancies, including missing or held invoices
Responding to queries from internal stakeholders and external suppliers via email and phone
Working closely with colleagues to resolve queries efficiently and support team objectives
Participating positively in team meetings, huddles and wider business forums
Supporting colleagues during periods of absence or high workload
Building and maintaining strong knowledge of ERP and finance systems
Working flexibly across different Accounts Payable sub‐teams as required
Who we're looking forEssential

Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Confident communication skills and a professional telephone manner
A customer‐focused approach with a passion for delivering quality service
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to different teams and workloads
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Desirable
Working towards AAT Level 2 or another professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ICM)
Experience using Oracle ERP systems
