Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Depot Sales ExecutiveJoin a growing agricultural supplies and fencing solutions business in a customer-facing sales role, splitting your time from the office and delivering trade counter sales, B2B customer service and account management from a busy depot environment.

If you have agricultural and/or fencing experience, then great. If not, but you have experience in sales, trade counter sales or customer facing roles, then that will be fine as the company will provide additional product training.

Salary: £28,000 to £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job OverviewWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Depot Sales Executive to join a well-established organisation within the agricultural supplies and fencing industry.

As a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Depot Sales Executive you will play a key role in trade counter sales, B2B sales and customer relationship management, supporting business growth and revenue targets through proactive sales and lead conversion.

Working as a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Depot Sales Executive, you will engage with customers in person, over the phone and online, preparing quotations, processing orders and identifying upselling opportunities while collaborating with transport, stores and administration teams.

Duties

Preparing Quotations: Producing accurate quotations and following up to convert leads into confirmed sales

Trade Counter Sales: Assisting customers face-to-face, providing product advice and recommending suitable solutions

Upselling And Cross-Selling: Advising on upgrades, alternative products and value-added options to maximise revenue

Order Processing: Processing sales orders efficiently and keeping customers informed on progress

Pipeline Management: Tracking quotation success rates and identifying missed sales opportunities

Market Awareness: Monitoring and reporting competitor pricing to maintain commercial competitiveness

Sales Administration: Maintaining accurate sales records using internal systems and CRM tools

Marketing Support: Assisting with social media updates, trade shows and seasonal merchandising

Team Collaboration: Working closely with transport, stores and administration teams to ensure smooth operations

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience in sales, trade counter sales or customer-facing roles

Proven experience of building customer relationships and closing deals

Strong communication skills, confident both in person and on the telephone

Sales-driven mindset with a proactive approach to lead generation and business growth

Experience with order processing, quotations or sales administration

Computer literate with the ability to learn CRM systems and internal software quickly

A positive, team-oriented attitude with a can-do approach

A background in agriculture, farming supplies or construction materials would be advantageous
