TLP Recruitment are seeking an experienced Shunter Driver to work for our client in Totton, Hampshire.This is a permanent opportunity offering stable full-time hours and the chance to join a leading specialist in bonded warehousing within the travel retail industry.

Our client is a well-established and trusted provider of bonded warehousing, stock management, product consolidation, transport and logistics services for major international businesses across the UK, Europe and beyond. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Shunter Driver to join their professional team.

Salary: £36,000 £39,000 per annum
Full-time 40 hours per week (16:30 01:00, Sunday to Thursday)

What do we need from you?

Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Previous experience with curtain-sided trailers
Good understanding of load safety and manual handling
Ability to manoeuvre and reverse vehicles safely in a yard environment
Physically fit and comfortable with manual duties
Team player with strong communication skills
Maximum six penalty points
Willingness to undergo a criminal record check due to the nature of the work

Duties will include:

Positioning vehicles for loading and unloading (onsite only)
Hitching and unhitching vehicles
Pulling curtains and strapping loads
Manoeuvring and reversing vehicles onto loading ramps in a small yard
Carrying out vehicle and trailer checks and reporting defects
Assisting with loading vehicles and general yard duties (forklift training provided)
