The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of mechanical services on a £15m office refurbishment project in Leeds. The role will involve managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

This position is available on either a permanent or contract basis and offers an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all mechanical works on site from installation through to commissioning
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and labour, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and other trade managers
• Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, drawings, specifications, and method statements
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, including site inspections and toolbox talks
• Manage material deliveries, plant, and logistics on site
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates
• Identify and resolve technical or coordination issues proactively
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on commercial or office refurbishment projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, etc.)
• SMSTS (or SSSTS with strong experience)
• CSCS card (relevant discipline)
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage subcontractors and work under pressure to tight programmes
• Immediate availability preferred
