National Account Manager – Grocery Retail (Asda)

Glasgow | Up to £50k + £5k Car Allowance + Bonus


Are you a commercially driven National Account Manager in the food industry who enjoys building strong retail partnerships and driving category growth?


We’re partnering with a well-established food business that supplies private-label products to major retailers across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a National Account Manager to take ownership of a key account and play a central role in developing the relationship and growing the business.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys true account ownership, strategic customer management, and identifying new commercial opportunities.


The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing and developing the Asda account, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and identifying opportunities to grow the partnership.

Alongside this, you’ll manage a portfolio of smaller accounts, driving sales growth, securing new business opportunities, and developing long-term customer relationships.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering sales and gross profit targets across your account portfolio
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Leading commercial discussions, including pricing, negotiations and joint business plans
  • Building strong relationships with buyers and key retail stakeholders
  • Working cross-functionally with internal teams to support product development and launches
  • Monitoring market trends, category insights and customer strategies
  • Managing forecasting and demand planning with supply chain teams
  • Presenting internally and externally on performance, opportunities and growth plans
  • The Ideal Candidate

    • Experience managing Asda accounts preferred
    • Strong understanding of the UK grocery retail landscape
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
    • Ability to analyse data and turn insights into commercial strategies
    • Results-driven mindset with a focus on sales and profitability
    • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver customer solutions
    • Able to work from their office 5 days per week during probation, with hybrid flexibility afterwards
