Placement Leader (Employee Benefits)We're hiring! We are looking for a Placement Leader to join our Health & Benefits team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from the office.

What the day will look likeWe are looking for an experienced and driven Placement Leader to lead our placement function in Malaysia. This is a leadership role with accountability for placement strategy, insurer engagement, and people development.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering strong, defensible placement outcomes for clients, building trusted partnerships with insurers, and developing a high‐performing placement team. This role works closely with Broking and Client Servicing teams and acts as a reference point for complex and high‐value placements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlacement Strategy & Market Engagement
Lead and implement market placement strategies to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
Build and maintain strong, long‐term relationships with insurers and market partners
Lead and provide strategic guidance on complex, large, or non‐standard placement
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all placement activities are conducted in line with internal placement models, regulatory requirements in Malaysia, and audit standards
Maintain high standards of documentation, market transparency, and placement rationale
Support internal reviews and audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop the placement team, setting clear standards for quality, professionalism, and performance
Build strong technical and commercial capability within the team, including mentoring of placement resources
Support succession planning and talent development within the placement function
Commercial & Client Support
Partner with Broking and Client Servicing teams by providing market insights, insurer intelligence, and negotiation support
Participate in key client discussions where placement strategy and market positioning are critical
Contribute to client retention and growth through effective placement execution
Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and capacity developments, and share insights with leadership
Operational Excellence
Drive consistency, efficiency, and quality across placement processes and deliverables
Use placement data, insurer feedback, and RFP outcomes to continuously improve decision‐making
Support initiatives to enhance workflows, use of systems, and overall placement effectiveness
Collaborate with regional and global teams on cross‐border placements and best practices
Skills and experience that will lead to successEducational Background
Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Professional insurance qualifications are an advantage
Skills & Experience
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in insurance broking and/or placement
Proven experience managing complex placements and senior insurer negotiations
Prior experience leading teams or specialists within a placement or broking function
Strong understanding of the Malaysian insurance market, including regulatory and governance requirements
Deep technical knowledge of insurance placement and market dynamics
Strong commercial acumen and sound judgment
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to expertly influence at senior client, insurer, and internal leadership levels
Organised, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast‐paced environment
