Overview Job Title: Senior SHE Advisor, Science (Permanent Part-Time)Location: Cambridge UKCompensation: Competitive Salary & BenefitsPosting Closing Date: April 05thIntroduction to Role: We are seeking a Senior SHE (Safety, Health & Environments) Advisor/ Specialist to join our scientific safety team. This role provides an opportunity to offer scientific safety advice and bring speciality in Biological/Chemical/ Radiation/ Process safety and Industrial Hygiene support to Cambridge Operations.Responsibilities Responsible for managing customer needs and expectations across a broad range of services in order to provide a high quality, timely and cost-effective serviceProvide technical support to multiple lab or office-based teams on a day-to-day basis ensuring adequate local induction/ instruction and training or acts as a technical owner of a specific area within the Science SHE Team with a deep understanding of processes and equipment employedEither lead the planning, managing, and monitoring of major Safety, Health and Environment projects from concepts to implementation, or provide expert technical support to project managerLead trouble shooting activities to resolve existing problems, make complicated judgements and anticipate future developments in AstraZeneca's Facilities related needsEmploys prepared information to discuss, plan and help carry out improvement plans, priority setting, incident investigations, safety inspections, quality assurance and performance improvement recommendationsDevelop contacts across a range of departments and/or external groups acting as SHE Team representative or other area of responsibilityEssential Skills / Qualification/ Experience Education: Degree level in science or equivalentAt least two years' experience of advising or managing Safety, Health and Environment in a large, complex organisation or a similar research experienceKnowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation/developments in the area of Safety Health and Environment, and maintain own professional awareness and developmentHolds a professional Occupational Safety and Health certificate or equivalent in health, science or engineering disciplineStrong communication and influencing skillsProject and people managementEvidence of working in a team and customer support roleDesirable Skills / Experience Understanding of multiple aspects of Safety, Health and EnvironmentExperience of working in a science/ research environmentHolds a diploma in Occupation Safety and Health or willing to achieve this within two yearsMembership of the Institute of Occupation Safety and Health or willing to achieve within three years of appointmentWhy AstraZeneca?
