The Role and the people you will supportYou'll become part of a warm, friendly team who support three ladies who have learning disabilities within their own home. The ladies all enjoy an active lifestyle, so you'll find yourself getting involved in dance classes, trips to the theatre and going out in their cars for day trips. With hobbies including knitting, puzzles, embroidery and arts and crafts no two days will be the same.

As a Support Practitioner, your main aim will be to support the ladies with their day to day living, which includes household chores, personal care, meal planning, cooking, attending appointments, finances and medication.

About YouYou don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills and will give you all the training you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and yearly SSSC registration fees too.

For this role we will need you to hold a full UK, manual driving licence with at least one year's experience on the roads as the ladies we support have their own mobility cars.

What we'll need you to bring:

An understanding of the importance of following routines and guidelines

Confidence in the use of computers

Shift PatternsOur team are dedicated to providing the best support possible which is tailored to the needs of each individual, so typical shift patterns will fall between the hours of 0800 - 2200 hours. These include day shift, back shift, waking nights and sleepovers. Weekends and public holidays will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note – If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‐employment checks.
