OverviewAutism Practitioners (Support Workers) – Tayside Area Services, Errol Service, PH2
Full Time and Part Time positions available – including small, flexible contracts
Salary: Starting at £12.60 per hour, rising to £12.82 after engagement. Opportunity to progress to £13.30 at your own pace. Sleepover rate: £100.80

About the roleBe part of our Tayside housing support service in Errol. We are looking to recruit team players who have excellent communication skills and an ability to think creatively. What you will doThe autistic gentleman we support enjoys engaging in activities in the local community such as swimming, walks, drives and arts and crafts. This role is an excellent opportunity to support someone to engage in activities they love and to develop independence and new skills, working within a wider multi-disciplinary team. Autism Practitioners work as part of a team to:
Continually develop and implement personalised support plans for the supported person
Build positive relationships with the supported person
Work in partnership with the supported person, their family, support network and health professionals
Work with stakeholders to ensure the person's life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support
On a day-to-day basis, Autism Practitioners enable people to:
Make informed choices using their preferred communication methods
Take part in chosen activities, attend local events, go shopping, holidays, etc. Practitioners may accompany supported individuals to places of interest
Complete tasks to maintain their homes, including paying bills and supporting them to make decisions that matter to them
Live as independently as possible with support for various life skills; this may include support with personal care
A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential. Drivers help us offer more opportunities for supported individuals to engage in their communities.
Qualifications and requirementsOther information related to employment at Scottish Autism includes:
PVG Disclosure checks for all posts
New employees must apply to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 3 months of starting and be registered within 6 months
Scottish Autism covers PVG membership and SSSC registration costs

The gentleman owns his own automatic vehicle which he requires support staff to drive.
