To lead, develop, and continuously evaluate the strategic delivery of nutrition support across all Academy age groups and parents.This is a part‐time position, working 16 hours per week.The role will ensure the nutrition curriculum and applied practices evolve in alignment with the developmental needs of players within the Academy pathway.The Academy Nutritionist will play a pivotal role in supporting the holistic development of players across all phases of the Academy pathway. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented practitioner who can integrate strategic monitoring, individualised performance support, and impactful education within a multidisciplinary environment. Working collaboratively with performance staff, players, parents, and host families, the successful candidate will ensure that nutrition provision consistently enhances health, wellbeing, and on-field performance while upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and governance.Job requirementsThe Academy Nutritionist must have:· Degree in Sports Science or related discipline· Master's degree in Nutrition· Experience working within professional sport.· Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.Ideally, the Academy Nutritionist will:· Proven experience delivering sports nutrition services within performance sport environments.· Strong IT competency, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.· Engaging and confident presenter with strong communication skills.· Excellent numeracy and literacy.· Highly organised with strong administrative capability.· Collaborative team player.· Demonstrates empathy and understanding when working with young athletes.Job responsibilitiesThe following is a non-exhaustive list of the responsibilities of the role:Strategic & Monitoring Responsibilities· Contribute to the systematic collection of objective anthropometric data (height, weight, girths, and skinfolds) in accordance with club processes, ensuring timely feedback to relevant stakeholders, particularly within the PDP phase.· Support the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process by collecting and interpreting player-specific objective data aligned with individual performance goals (PDP players).· Collaborate with the Schoolboy Performance Team to ensure consistent monitoring of height and weight across U9–U16 age groups.· Ensure all designated "priority" PDP players receive a minimum nutrition touchpoint every 4-weeks to review progress and update individual plans.· Deliver individualised nutrition support to improve performance, health, and recovery.· Contribute to the ongoing review and evolution of the Academy nutrition curriculum, ensuring age-appropriate content across each stage of development.· Deliver parent education workshops (TSG) tailored to key topics relevant to U9–U21 players.· Provide educational sessions and workshops for U18 and Development Team players aligned with performance curriculum objectives.· Develop and distribute educational materials to players and parents, including bespoke materials to support tours and competition periods.· Provide guidance and ongoing education to host families, with regular monitoring of nutritional standards and provision.Performance & Operational Integration· Liaise with age-group performance staff and the performance chef to ensure optimal nutrition provision across all training and matchday scenarios.· Collaborate with performance staff to implement group supplementation strategies and manage individual supplementation protocols within the PDP phase (informed by blood profiling where appropriate).· Oversee and monitor daily fuelling, recovery, and operational processes to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery with no delivery gaps.Safeguarding & Governance· Maintain and demonstrate exemplary safeguarding knowledge and practice, including full understanding of legislation, governing body regulations, and child protection policies.· Ensure all safeguarding or welfare concerns are reported promptly and appropriately.· Comply with all club policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security regulations.Applications close on Friday 10th April.Required 'Candidate' login to applying this job.
