Junior Mechanical Estimator - Ideal for a Plumber / Pipefitter Looking to Come Off the ToolsWe are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established M&E Contractor based in Leicester who are looking to bring on a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for a Mechanical tradesperson (Plumber, Pipefitter, Heating Engineer, HVAC Installer etc.) who is looking to come off the tools and progress into an office-based role within the building services sector.

You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers, learning how to price and prepare tenders for a range of commercial and industrial mechanical projects.

The Role

Assisting with preparation of mechanical tenders and estimates

Reviewing drawings and specifications

Helping to price mechanical packages including pipework, plumbing, heating and HVAC systems

Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations

Supporting senior estimators with take-offs and cost breakdowns

Liaising with project managers, suppliers and internal teams

The Ideal Candidate

Background as a Mechanical tradesperson (Plumber, Pipefitter, Heating Engineer etc.)

Looking to progress into estimating or project management

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings (desirable)

Good communication and organisational skills

Basic computer skills and willingness to learn estimating software
