Role DescriptionThis full-time on-site Trainee/Assistant Professional role is based at Castlerock Golf Club, Castlerock. The role involves assisting the PGA Fellow Professional in providing golf lessons, conducting custom fittings, and managing the indoor performance studio. Additional responsibilities include engaging with members and visitors, supporting tournaments and events, and contributing to the daily operations of both the course and the clubhouse to ensure an exceptional golfer experience.

Qualifications

Proficiency in golf instruction and knowledge of custom fitting equipment and techniques

Strong customer service and communication skills to engage with members and visitors

Ability to assist in tournament organization and event support

Strong organisational skills and a team-oriented mindset to ensure smooth clubhouse and course operations

Proficiency in basic administrative tasks such as scheduling and booking systems is a plus

Interest in professional development and working towards PGA qualification is beneficial

Prior experience in a golf club environment is advantageous but not required

A passion for golf and commitment to upholding the club's high standards

Key Responsibilities

Assisting in the daily execution of first-class Pro Shop and outside operations.

Delivering and expanding our Junior Coaching and "Get into Golf" programmes.

Conducting expert custom fitting sessions using our state-of-the‐art TrackMan launch monitor and manufacturer fitting kits.

Driving retail excellence through proactive sales, technical knowledge, and premium service.

Assisting with stock control, inventory management, and seasonal buying preparations.

Ensuring the "Castlerock Standard" of customer service is met at every touchpoint, from the bag drop to the first tee.

Contributing to the creative merchandising of the Pro Shop to showcase our premium apparel and hardware.

Candidate Requirements

A strong team player with a "can-do" attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Passionate about delivering a five-star experience to a diverse range of golfers.

Highly professional manner with excellent communication skills.

Solid technical knowledge of the latest golf equipment and apparel trends.

Impeccable personal presentation reflecting the prestige of a Top 100 course.

Proficiency in using Intelligent Golf (IG) for competitions, bookings, and memberships is highly advantageous.

Comfort with modern EPOS systems and digital marketing/social media.
