Junior Clinical Nurse SpecialistThe closing date is 09 March 2026
Are you an experienced Nurse with the flexibility, initiative, dynamism, clinical skills, motivation with a keen interest in Ophthalmology and improving patient care? Could you be our new colleague?
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist in Ophthalmology who has knowledge of current research and professional issues relating to the specialty to be a part of our large Multidisciplinary Team.
Hours will be worked over Monday-Friday.
Main duties of the jobAs a senior member of the Nursing Team, you will be expected to co-ordinate the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs of care for patients requiring ophthalmic care.
You will be expected to act as a role model for nursing and non-nursing staff and work with the Multidisciplinary Team ensuring a high standard of holistic care is maintained for all patients and families.
To practice autonomously as an Ophthalmic Clinical Nurse Specialist within the department
To assess, organise and prioritise care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision
Act as a role model setting standards of practice while promoting clinical expertise.

O Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility. O Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population. Person SpecificationQualifications
RN /RSCN Diploma or equivalent
Degree or working towards
Post-registration qualification or evidence of further study
Teaching and assessing qualification 998 /997 / mentorship or equivalent
Knowledge and experience
Speciality knowledge and experience
Basic knowledge of financial management within the clinical setting.
Knowledge of professional and NHS issues and an understanding of corporate objectives.
To complete the Trust toolkit competencies
Relevant Post Registration clinical experience
Initiation and implementation of change
Clinical Nurse Specialist mentorship and development
