Working 36.5 hours per week

Job SummaryBirmingham Virtual School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Education Placement Officer to work alongside families, young people, social care and other local authorities supporting children in care to secure appropriate and timely education provision / school placements.

Responsibilities

Secure in‐year school admission applications and ensure timely submission at normal admission round application.

Develop and manage key relationships to secure a good or better education placement.

Advocate for children and the family.

Work directly with vulnerable young people and families.

Collaborate with senior professionals, multi‐agency partners and external services supporting children in care.

Qualifications

Experience working in schools, other education provisions or a local authority with knowledge of admissions procedures and DfE guidance on school admissions code requirements.

Experience advocating for children and families.

Experience working with vulnerable young people and families.
