While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Job Overview I'm looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Mechanical Estimator to support my clients estimating department in preparing accurate and competitive bids for HVAC and mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, and possess excellent mathematical and analytical skills.Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical systems projectsReview project plans, specifications, and other bid documents to understand project requirementsPerform quantity takeoffs for mechanical equipment, ductwork, piping, and associated materialsResearch and compile material and equipment costs from suppliers and subcontractorsAnalyze labor requirements and calculate labor costs based on project scope and complexityUtilize estimating software to input data and generate accurate cost estimatesCollaborate with senior estimators and project managers to refine estimates and ensure accuracyParticipate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather additional project informationAssist in the preparation of bid proposals and supporting documentationMaintain a database of historical cost data and update pricing information regularlyStay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC and mechanical systemsSupport the estimating team in meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneouslyContribute to the continuous improvement of estimating xbpsjku processes and proceduresQualifications Required: 0-2 years of experience in mechanical estimating or related fieldStrong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and construction processesProficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specificationsExcellent mathematical and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressureProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentStrong time management and organizational skills
