Operations Co-ordinator (24 hours / Part-Time)

Job description

The Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support within an engineering and manufacturing environment. The role ensures smooth control of manufacturing documentation, effective management of calibration and tooling, and timely ordering of PPE and departmental consumables. Working cross-functionally with Assembly, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality, the Operations Coordinator maintains compliance with BSI, MOD and internal engineering standards while supporting day-to-day operational needs.Key Responsibilities Administration & Document Control Provide administrative support to the Operations department.Control, issue, and maintain documentation for Assembly and Test teams.Maintain pre-IFS archives and historical production data including drawings and serial number records.Ensure build instructions, specifications and process documents are accurate and available.Calibration & Tooling Management Maintain and control the company calibration database.Ensure equipment and tooling remain compliant and audit ready.Manage tooling records and support procurement of tooling for Production, Test and Assembly.Purchasing & PPE Source, raise and manage departmental purchase requisitions.Order and maintain stock levels of PPE for operational teams.Liaise with suppliers to support quality and delivery targets.Operational Support & Compliance Support Manufacturing Engineers during peak workloads or staff absence.Raise change requests to resolve operational issues.Maintain BSI, MOD and worldwide engineering standards databases.Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety legislation and company policy.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Provide administrative support to the Operations department, ensuring efficient coordination of daily activities.Provide support to Site Services as required.Demonstrate and adhere to the ESCO company values.Carry out any other duties as required by the Management.Qualifications Qualifications / skills required GCSE Grade C/4 Maths & English or equivalent.Required Experience in a comparable role within engineering or manufacturing.Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.Ability to work to deadlines and communicate effectively.Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety legislation.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Preferred Relevant support and coordinating experience in an engineering/operations environment.Knowledge of assembly and production processes.Knowledge of ERP systems.Additional Information Driving license required.Travel to alternative locations in the UK to undertake occasional off-site activities (as required).Flexible working hours to suit both parties – To be discussed at the interview.Working occasional overtime and unsociable hours as and when required.Note: All candidates must meet the security vetting requirements relevant to the role.
