OverviewMy client in East London are looking for a Team Manager in the Children's placement team who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people and thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The post is for a Team Manager in the Placements Team within Corporate parenting and will be responsible for commissioning placements. This will include working in compliance with statutory social work regulations and standards. The team caters to commissioning of all types of alternative homes for children and young people 0-25 years. You will have management responsibility of social workers and non-social worker staff within the team.

ResponsibilitiesCommission placements ensuring compliance with statutory social work regulations. Manage a team of social workers and non-social worker staff. Develop and maintain mutually trusting and respectful relationships with service users and providers, make fine judgements about risk, and work creatively and innovatively. Protect and safeguard children, young people, their families and carers. Promote independence and manage risk and uncertainty.

Qualifications & SkillsEducational Qualification : Degree level OR Registered Social Worker.

Strong communication and empowerment skills

Creative and innovative problem solving of complex issues in ambiguous situations

Flexibility and attention to detail, understanding commercial reaction to actions within the market

Supervisory skills/experience and demonstrable multitasking ability

Previous experience in placement/commissioning/brokerage team desirable
