Junior Launch Engineer

Position: Junior Launch Body EngineerLocation: Onsite in SurreyContract: 3-6 months initially (40 hours per week, outside IR35 if applicable)

Contechs is supporting a leading British luxury, low‐volume automotive manufacturer who is looking to bring a Junior Launch Body Engineer into their team on a rolling contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high‐end, bespoke vehicle programmes within a fast‐paced OEM environment.

Please note: This is not a trainee role. A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Launch or Series Engineer within an OEM is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and lead body structures systems to meet design specifications and styling intent

Support both prototype and production build phases

Ensure all components and assemblies meet relevant industry, business and legislative standards

Contribute to problem‐solving activities during virtual and physical builds

Review engineering prototypes and identify potential issues or risks

Assist with estimating cost limits and budgets for new designs

Represent the department in design reviews, testing, and development activities where required

Manage your own design work to ensure timely releases while incorporating design‐for‐manufacture requirements from suppliers
