Salary Range: £35,000- £40,000

About the RoleWe are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to contribute to the development of flight control software. Working with internal stakeholders, external customers and the software engineering team across multiple projects you will translate high level business and project objectives into detailed requirements and user stories.

Responsibilities

Capturing requirements from customer and project meetings

Creating epics, features and user stories and aligning them with project milestones

Working with stakeholders to prioritise issues

Work collaboratively with a cross functional team (QA, UX, Software Engineers) to break down user stories into tasks

Ensure issues meet the definition of ready as specified by the software team Creating process flows and diagrams/ basic wireframes

Support the team to ensure delivery milestones are met

Perform other software tasks as required

Health and Safety

Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner

Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.

When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.

About YouQualifications

Essential

Degree in a relevant subject

Desirable

BCS, IIBA or similar certification

Skills

Essential

Practical Experience Gathering, organising and analysing information

Exposure to problem solving in real-world or structured settings

Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail

Comfortable with ambiguity and asking questions to gain clarity

Ability to analyse business and project needs

Desirable

Working to an Agile framework e.g. Scrum, Kanban

Collaborating in a software team using tools such as Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Project

Previous programming/testing experience

Previous experience working on autopilots and flight control systems

Previous experience or interest in drones or aviation

Personal Attributes

Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.

Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel.

Excellent communicator

Excellent problem-solving ability

Ability to work well in a team.

Enthusiasm for their work and self-motivated

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
