OTE: Realistic £150,000–£200,000 for a top performer
Wastetech is looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to help grow our national customer base.
This is a field-based new business role for someone who can generate opportunities, get in front of decision makers, understand customer operations, build tailored commercial solutions, and close profitable long-term contracts.
For the right person, this is a genuine opportunity to join a growing business, earn at a high level, and progress into a Sales Manager role over time.

Wastetech is a national waste management consultancy that designs, implements, and manages bespoke waste and recycling solutions for businesses across the UK.
We help organisations reduce waste-related costs, improve recycling performance, lower carbon impact, and simplify supplier management through tailored, commercially driven solutions. Using a national contractor network, we provide customers with flexible waste and recycling strategies backed by strong service delivery and ongoing account support.
The Role
You will be responsible for identifying and winning new business opportunities across the UK. This is a consultative sales role suited to someone who is confident opening doors, building relationships, understanding customer needs, and converting prospects into long-term contracted clients.
You will attend prospect meetings and site visits, develop tailored proposals, negotiate commercial agreements, and work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover and implementation process.
This role offers significant earning potential for a high performer and clear scope to progress as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and win new business opportunities across the UK
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective customers
- Attend prospect meetings and site visits to understand operational requirements
- Develop bespoke waste and recycling proposals tailored to customer needs
- Negotiate commercial terms and close new contracts
- Maintain accurate CRM records and manage the sales pipeline effectively
- Work closely with internal teams to support customer onboarding and implementation
- Represent Wastetech professionally in the market and build strong long-term client relationships
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record in business development and winning new business
- Strong consultative sales, negotiation, and relationship building skills
- Confident engaging decision makers at all levels
- Ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close
- Self-motivated, organised, and commercially focused
- Comfortable travelling nationally for customer meetings and site visits
- Experience in waste management, recycling, facilities management, environmental services, or other outsourced B2B service sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right sales professional with a proven track record
- Proficient in CRM systems and general business development tools
