Business Development Manager

P. Moe Talent Collective is looking for a Business Development Manager

Job description

Can you drive double-digit growth while fuelling a global force for good?

My client is a unique, impartial organisation at the heart of the UK food and consumer goods landscape. Operating with a charitable status, they serve as a strategic foresight and learning partner for the entire agrifood supply chain, reinvesting 100% of their profits into social impact.

This is a consultative, new-business-acquisition role based in Watford (Hybrid), joining a team currently experiencing significant growth and exceptional client loyalty.

To continue their double-digit growth trajectory, my client requires an ambitious commercial professional who excels at strategic client acquisition. You won’t just be selling a service; you’ll be providing strategic insights and foresight to manufacturers, retailers, and service suppliers, ensuring they have the tools to thrive in a complex marketplace.

  • Ownership of the Lifecycle: Take full responsibility for the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach and building rapport with cold and warm leads through to successful conversion.
  • Consultative Acquisition: Deeply understand each client’s unique challenges and objectives to identify the right solutions across online services and consulting portfolio.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and manage a robust, accurate pipeline, ensuring precise forecasting and seamless internal collaboration to deliver a "best-in-class" onboarding experience.
  • Industry Presence: Represent the brand at industry events and networking opportunities to strengthen its presence across the FMCG and retail sectors.

You are a proactive, resilient, and tenacious professional who thrives in a high-performance, customer-focused culture.

  • Proven Track Record: At least 2+ years of experience in a B2B, quota-carrying role, specifically working with FMCG and/or retail clients.
  • Consultative Expertise: Demonstrable skills in building and managing robust pipelines and the confidence to engage with senior decision-makers both in-person and virtually.
  • Collaboration & Initiative: A self-motivated individual comfortable working on their own initiative, whilst being a keen collaborator and team player.
  • Strategic Acumen: A strong understanding of business issues affecting the industry and the ability to adapt to new products and services.
  • Networking: Ideally, you possess an existing network of contacts in the FMCG/Retail space and have a natural flair for creative problem-solving.

My client is proud to be a Great Place to Work, offering a package that empowers you to manage your own time and career:

  • Basic salary of £40,000 per annum plus a £5,500 car allowance.
  • Hybrid working, 28 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays), Holiday Flex, and Early Finish Fridays.
  • Market-leading pension, discretionary bonus scheme, private medical insurance, Life Assurance, and a "Doctor at Hand" service.
  • Access to gym and health screening discounts, independent financial advice, and a dedicated team charity day.
  • Full support for professional qualifications, memberships, and access to continuous learning.
