I am seeking a Physical Implementation Application Engineer to join their growing team in Berkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to move into a dynamic, customer-facing role while continuing to apply their deep technical expertise in digital implementation. This role is ideal for a junior Engineer looking to take their first step into the Semiconductor industry.

This client develops cutting-edge solutions used across a range of markets including automotive, AI, communications, and advanced computing. As a Physical Implementation Application Engineer, you’ll act as the technical bridge between customers and the R&D team, helping to solve complex implementation challenges and contribute to design success at some of the most innovative semiconductor companies globally.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with customers to support digital implementation flows, including synthesis, DFT, equivalence checking, place & route, and timing analysis
  • Act as the technical point of contact for customer engagements, ensuring smooth communication between engineering teams and internal development
  • Troubleshoot performance, power, and timing issues; provide hands-on guidance and recommendations
  • Contribute to methodology development and optimisation based on evolving customer needs
  • Deliver product demos, technical presentations, and on-site support as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex tool or design-related challenges

What We’re Looking For:

  • Knowledge in digital IC/ASIC design, with a focus on implementation flow from RTL to GDS
  • Hands-on experience with EDA tools for synthesis, STA, DFT, and PnR (tools from any major vendor are suitable)
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Tcl, Perl, or Shell) and automation within a Linux-based environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with customers
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting and interacting with technical teams
