Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer

Location: Remote‑first

Clearance: UK Security Clearance (SC) – Mandatory

Contract Type: 6 Month FTC

On‑Call: 1‑in‑3 shared rotation

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer to join a dedicated AVD support function responsible for delivering a secure, stable, and high‑performing remote working environment.

If you enjoy solving complex EUC challenges, optimising virtual desktop environments, and working with modern Azure technologies, this is a great opportunity to step into a role with real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the AVD specialist within the team, you will:

✅ Support and administer the full Azure Virtual Desktop estate

✅ Provide hands‑on support to end users within a dedicated AVD support team

✅ Manage host pools, images, user/application access, resource groups and overall AVD configuration

✅ Optimise and support multi‑user environments using FSLogix and NetApp (or equivalent technologies)

✅ Ensure high availability, resilience and disaster recovery across all AVD components

✅ Participate in an on‑call rota (1‑in‑3)

✅ Travel occasionally to the Gloucester Business Park site when required (remote-first role)

✅ Troubleshooting EUC / VDI environments

✅ Supporting end users in a service‑focused environment
