The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established, global engineering consultancy looking to expand its UK infrastructure team with the appointment of a Principal Civil Engineer.
This role sits within a growing Highways & Water division, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in delivering and developing infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
You will take a leading role in the delivery of highways and water infrastructure projects, supporting both technical delivery and team development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to step into a high-impact position within a scaling UK team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of highways and water infrastructure schemes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Support projects through all stages, from concept through to detailed design
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure sectors
- Ensure designs are compliant with relevant UK standards and regulations
- Engage with clients and stakeholders as required
- Support the growth and development of the UK team
Candidate Requirements
- 10–20 years’ experience in civil engineering
- Strong background in highways and water infrastructure
- Proven experience delivering UK-based infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of UK design standards (e.g. Highways and water frameworks)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards
- Consultancy experience
- Experience working on large or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
