The Opportunity

This is a key site leadership role based in Norfolk, supporting the delivery of a major high-voltage substation project.


As HV Construction Manager, you will take full responsibility for the safe, structured, and technically compliant execution of HV works on site, leading construction from mobilisation through to energisation.


You will play a critical role in ensuring installation is delivered in line with programme, quality standards, and commissioning readiness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all HV construction activities on site from mobilisation through to energisation
  • Coordinate daily site operations across electrical and civil interfaces
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring clear scope, performance, and delivery standards
  • Drive programme adherence and proactively manage risks
  • Ensure installation aligns with approved drawings and technical submissions
  • Monitor compliance with IEC, EN, IEEE and UK utility standards
  • Oversee QA/QC processes, inspections, and ITP execution
  • Support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities
  • Maintain structured reporting, documentation, and site records


Key Requirements

  • Degree or trade background in Electrical Engineering or equivalent HV experience
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience delivering HV substation projects (AIS and/or GIS)
  • Strong knowledge of HV primary plant, protection systems, and earthing
  • Proven experience leading site teams and subcontractors
  • Experience delivering utility or infrastructure-connected projects in the UK or Europe
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as required
