Full-time
We’re partnering with a leading UK retail and digital platform business undergoing significant transformation, building out a modern, scalable engineering ecosystem across multiple brands and platforms.
They’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a product-aligned, agile engineering team, playing a key role in shaping customer-facing experiences at scale.
This is a senior individual contributor position with real ownership, influence, and the opportunity to impact technical direction across a large, complex digital estate.
The Role
You’ll be working on a modern MACH-based architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless), helping deliver and evolve platforms that support 70+ websites and mobile applications.
Alongside delivery, you’ll act as a technical leader within the frontend community, mentoring engineers and driving best practices across teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Driving frontend architecture decisions (component design, state management, app structure)
• Building high-quality solutions using React, Next.js and TypeScript
• Influencing shared design systems and frontend standards
• Partnering closely with Product, Design and Content teams
• Owning critical customer journeys with a focus on performance, accessibility and usability
• Working with GraphQL and REST APIs, with some Node.js exposure
• Mentoring engineers and elevating overall engineering standards
• Identifying improvements across performance, CI/CD and developer experience
What They’re Looking For
• Strong experience as a Senior Frontend or Full-Stack Engineer in production environments
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React and Next.js
• Experience mentoring and supporting engineers
• Strong understanding of performance, accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design
• Experience across the full SDLC including testing, CI/CD and automation
Nice to have:
• Experience with MACH/composable architecture
• Knowledge of Core Web Vitals
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure etc.) and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience in distributed or event-driven systems
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a high-growth, tech-driven environment where engineering plays a central role in shaping the future of a major digital platform. You’ll have real ownership, autonomy, and the chance to influence how things are built at scale.
