DevOps Engineer

James Adams is looking for a DevOps Engineer

Job description

We’re partnering with a major UK organisation undergoing a large-scale cloud transformation journey. Having recently completed a full migration to AWS, they’re now entering an exciting phase of optimisation and modernisation, rethinking how platforms are built, scaled, and operated using cloud-native technologies.

This is a chance to join a forward-thinking tech function where innovation, automation, and best practice are at the heart of everything they do. You’ll be part of a team shaping the future of their platform landscape, without the constraints of legacy thinking.

What you will do

You’ll take ownership of designing, building, and evolving cloud infrastructure and platforms. You’ll play a key role in driving modern engineering practices and enabling teams to deliver at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, and automated cloud platforms (primarily AWS)
  • Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions
  • Lead platform reliability, performance, and security best practices
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges
  • Define and implement monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, patterns, and documentation
  • Continuously optimise infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and drive innovation across the platform

Why it’s a great opportunity

  • Be part of a major cloud transformation programme at scale
  • Work with modern technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling
  • Have real influence on architecture, standards, and engineering direction
  • Join a collaborative environment that values learning, development, and progression
  • Opportunity to lead, mentor, and shape a growing platform engineering function
  • Competitive package with bonus and strong long-term benefits

Details

  • Location: Northampton (Hybrid)
  • Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + bonus
