Title: Senior Automotive Design Engineer – Vehicle Architecture, CAD & Packaging

Location: Warwickshire (On‑site / hybrid 3/4 days per week)

Contract: 12 months | Start: ASAP

Rate: £55-60k pro rata

✅ About the Role

We are supporting a major automotive OEM seeking a Senior Automotive Engineer with strong experience in vehicle architecture, CAD design, geometric integration, and packaging. This role aligns internally to a Vehicle Integration Engineer (Senior Engineer D) but is broadened here for discoverability.

You’ll be responsible for early‑phase vehicle layout, system packaging, and geometric issue resolution across multi‑disciplinary engineering teams in an EV‑focused environment.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle architecture layouts, CAD package models, and concept studies
• Create component and system packaging solutions to support design feasibility
• Identify, track, and resolve geometric, clearance, and compatibility issues
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (chassis, body, powertrain, electrical)
• Support benchmarking, concept development, and design trade‑off discussions
• Produce clear CAD visuals, design reports, and integration recommendations

✅ Essential Skills & Experience

• 2+ years in vehicle packaging, vehicle integration, or automotive product development
• Strong CAD capability – or transferable 3D CAD such as NX/Creo/SolidWorks
• Familiarity with multi‑component mechanical systems and structural design eg: chassis, propulsion systems, and body structures
• Strong communication skills with ability to align cross‑functional stakeholders
• Ability to deliver high‑quality work against tight engineering deadlines
