Site Hygiene Manager – High Care Food Manufacturing


Location: South Wales


Onsite (Days/Nights Flexibility) - £60,000 + Package + Senior Leadership Opportunity


A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Site Hygiene Manager to take full responsibility for hygiene operations across a high-care production site.


This is a key leadership role with accountability for delivering exceptional hygiene standards across all shifts in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.


The Role

  • Lead and manage site-wide hygiene operations across day and night shifts
  • Oversee and develop a large hygiene team, driving a high-performance culture
  • Ensure full compliance with retailer and regulatory hygiene and food safety standards
  • Take ownership of hygiene systems, driving continuous improvement and sustainable standards
  • Play a key role in audits, inspections, and customer interactions
  • Lead from the front with a hands-on, proactive approach
  • Support site performance through improvement and turnaround initiatives


About You

  • Proven experience in a hygiene leadership role within high-care food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of working to major UK retailer standards
  • Experience managing large teams across multiple shifts
  • Flexible approach to working patterns (days, nights, and occasional weekends)
  • Able to demonstrate delivery of measurable improvements or change projects
  • A strong team player with a practical, hands-on leadership style


Qualifications

  • HACCP Level 3 (minimum)
  • Food Safety and Lysteria Level 4
  • Advanced hygiene or Listeria control experience (desirable)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification
  • Microbiology knowledge (advantageous)
