Middleweight Interior Designer, In-House Hotels

Canvas Careers is looking for a Middleweight Interior Designer, In-House Hotels

Job description

The Studio

This in-house design team sits within an established luxury hospitality group with an international portfolio of hotels. With a number of renovation and refurbishment projects planned across the coming years, the team will play an important role in shaping the next chapter of the brand’s design identity.

Based in a central London studio, the team works closely together on a range of design-led hospitality projects, collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality guest experiences. It is a collaborative and creative environment where designers contribute across the portfolio while working closely with senior leadership.

The Opportunity

As a Middleweight Interior Designer, you will work across several small to mid-scale hospitality projects from concept through to completion, alongside a number of smaller creative tasks. Responsibilities include concept development, preparing drawing packages and producing detailed specification documents.

Working closely with the Design Director, you will be part of a small in-house team delivering projects across the portfolio. The role also includes wider creative involvement, from supporting photoshoots and styling to contributing to the brand’s visual storytelling and design identity.

You will collaborate with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard while supporting the wider creative direction of the brand.

The Candidate

• 3–5 years’ experience in interior design, ideally within hospitality projects (a newly appointed Senior Interior Designer would also be considered)

• Strong design sensibility with the ability to respond to context, history and brand vision

• Confident liaising with contractors, consultants and suppliers throughout a project

• Strong technical and documentation skills, including drawing packs and specifications

• Collaborative, proactive and positive approach, while able to work independently

• Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Bonus: rendering skills, photoshoot or styling experience, and OS&E sourcing knowledge
