Senior Supply Chain Planner

Hunter Douglas, Inc. is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Planner

Job description

Working as part of our Planning function, the UK Senior MRP Controller plays a key role in ensuring product availability, optimising inventory, and driving operational efficiency across the UK market.

You will manage a material resource planning portfolio end-to-end, acting as the front-line contact for vendors and key business stakeholders. With full visibility of the supply chain, you’ll also contribute as a project member on New Product Introduction (NPI) and End-of-Life (EOL) initiatives. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

As a Senior MRP Controller, you will champion continuous improvement, owning and implementing initiatives that enhance ways of working across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Material Resource Planning across HD UK sites
  • Manage supply vs. Demand to meet Service Level targets—ensuring finished goods availability for customer orders and raw/packaging material availability for production
  • Forecast future demand to support new ranges and promotional activity, balancing service with stock turns
  • Own and implement continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
  • Coach and mentor MRP Controllers, sharing best practices
  • Oversee replenishment and stock management within agreed budgets
  • Communicate and manage stock shortages in collaboration with customer service teams
  • Design, implement and execute MRP processes, routines, policies, and controls
  • Standardise and maximise use of the SAP MRP module, including master data and planning parameters
  • Ensure SAP reflects accurate stock positions, in-transit inventory, and open orders
  • Provide insights into the S&OP process in partnership with commercial stakeholders
  • Calculate and monitor KPIs including OTIF%, stock availability, and lead-time adherence
  • Drive strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance
  • Promote and lead automation, digitalisation, and data-driven decision-making

What We Are Looking For

  • BSc/MSc in a business-related discipline
  • 3–5 years of MRP Controlling or Supply Planning experience in the UK
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • SAP MRP (or other relevant SAP modules) – essential
  • Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex planning challenges
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the business and with external vendors
  • A process-minded, proactive individual who thrives on improving ways of working

Why Join Us?

  • Play a key role in shaping the supply chain performance of a major UK operation
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with cross-functional exposure
  • Take ownership of improvements and have a visible impact on business results
  • Opportunities to mentor others and further develop leadership skills
  • Be part of a forward-thinking team committed to digitalisation and operational excellence

We understand there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. We’re proud to offer an inclusive workplace where every colleague feels valued, supported, and empowered to be their true self. If you require any reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate.
