Planning Lawyer – 6-Month Contract | London (Hybrid)


We are seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to join a leading legal team on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong expertise in planning law to work on complex development projects in London and its surrounding areas.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience advising on large-scale, mixed-use development schemes across a variety of asset classes.
  • Strong knowledge of core planning law concepts, including community infrastructure levy, heritage/listed building matters, and compulsory purchase issues.
  • Ability to provide planning input across broader real estate transactions, including reviewing planning histories and supporting transactional documentation.
  • Experience leading negotiations on Section 106 agreements, including affordable housing obligations.
  • Advising on development-related agreements, including highways and drainage infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of highways law and procedures such as stopping up.
  • Ability to manage matters proactively, delivering work to high standards and agreed deadlines.
  • Exposure to public inquiries or hearings.
  • Experience with development consent orders or major infrastructure projects is a plus.
