The Role
We are looking for an outstanding General Manager to lead The Princess Royal, one of Notting Hill’s most loved pubs.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on creating a brilliant atmosphere, building strong teams, and delivering consistently high standards. You will take full ownership of the business — from guest experience and team culture to commercial performance and operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the Business
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day and long-term performance of the pub
- Create a warm, vibrant, and well-run environment for both guests and team
- Be a visible, present leader on the floor
Delivering Exceptional Guest Experience
- Set and maintain high standards across food, drink, and service
- Build a loyal, returning local customer base
- Ensure every guest experience reflects the character and quality of the brand
Building and Leading a Strong Team
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team
- Create a positive, supportive, and ambitious culture
- Lead by example with energy, professionalism, and care
Driving Commercial Performance
- Own the P&L, with a strong focus on revenue, labour, and cost control
- Drive sales through local engagement, events, and consistent quality
- Monitor performance and take action where needed
Operational Excellence
- Ensure smooth, organised, and efficient operations
- Maintain high standards of compliance, cleanliness, and presentation
- Use systems effectively to manage rotas, stock, and reporting
What We’re Looking For
- A proven General Manager (or strong AGM ready to step up) from a quality-led hospitality environment
- A natural host with a genuine passion for people and service
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing a P&L
- A hands-on, detail-focused operator
- Someone who takes pride in their pub and treats it as their own
