Role Title:

Product & Proposition Lead – Cards (Embedded Finance)

Role Purpose:

Lead the strategy, design, and execution of a card-based proposition within an embedded finance ecosystem, driving growth, customer adoption, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Ownership-

• Define and execute the end-to-end cards strategy (credit/debit/virtual)
• Build a scalable cards business
• Identify new revenue streams across embedded finance use cases

Product & Proposition Development-

• Lead product ideation, design, and roadmap
• Translate market opportunities into commercial card propositions
• Own go-to-market strategy for new launches

Cards & Payments Expertise-

• Deep understanding of:
• Authorisation flows
• Scheme rules (e.g. Mastercard / Visa)
• Interchange, settlement, disputes
• Manage relationships with:
• Issuers / BIN sponsors
• Processors
• Networks

Embedded Finance & Partnerships-

• Build propositions for partners embedding card products
• Work with fintechs, platforms, and merchants
• Drive BaaS / embedded card use cases

Leadership & Stakeholder Management-

• Partner with senior executives and board-level stakeholders
• Lead cross-functional teams (product, tech, compliance, commercial)
• Influence internally and externally

Delivery & Execution-

• Oversee end-to-end product launches
• Ensure regulatory and scheme compliance
• Drive performance metrics (activation, spend, approval rates)

Key Requirements:

Experience-

• 15+ years in cards / payments
• Proven track record building or scaling a cards business

Experience in:

• Issuer side (bank) OR
• Network (e.g. Mastercard/Visa) OR
• Fintech (issuer processor / embedded finance)

Technical / Domain Expertise-

• Strong knowledge of:
• Card lifecycle
• Authorisation & clearing
• Scheme economics
• Experience launching:
• Credit cards / debit cards / virtual cards

Commercial & Leadership-

• Experience working with C-suite stakeholders
• Strong product ownership mindset
• Leadership of large-scale initiatives or teams

Nice to Have-

• Embedded finance / BaaS experience
• Exposure to modern tech stacks / APIs
• Experience with fintech partnerships

London in office 1-2 days per week.
