Building Services Designer / Design Coordinator

Location: North London (office based)

Full Time | Permanent


Are you an experienced MEP Design professional looking to take ownership of projects and play a key role in delivering high quality building services designs?


We’re working with a growing and forward-thinking organisation looking for a Building Services Designer / Design Coordinator to lead and coordinate MEP design delivery across a range of exciting projects.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking responsibility for design, leading teams and collaborating across departments to deliver efficient, compliant and innovative building services solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the MEP Design Project Leader, overseeing the delivery of detailed MEP designs
  • Lead and manage MEP project teams, ensuring designs meet Employer’s Requirements and industry standards
  • Produce design programmes, specifications, reports, drawings and surveys
  • Coordinate closely with architectural teams, consultants and technical departments
  • Ensure all design information is issued accurately and on time
  • Review, coordinate and QA-check incoming and outgoing design documentation
  • Assess cost and programme implications of design changes
  • Attend client meetings, design team meetings and site visits where required
  • Provide guidance on cost-effective design solutions and alternative specifications
  • Maintain strong knowledge of current legislation, Building Regulations and industry guidance


What we’re looking for

  • Experience working within Building Services / MEP Design
  • Experience working on Residential projects
  • Strong coordination and project leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across design, technical and site teams
  • Good understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry design guides
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to design challenges
