Our client, a well‑regarded City law firm, is seeking an experienced Chartered Trade Mark Attorney to join its IP & Commercial team. Working alongside four partners, the successful candidate will handle a broad range of UK and international trade mark matters and work directly with clients across multiple sectors, including retail, technology, media, fashion and consumer products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a full caseload and monitoring all trade mark deadlines
- Advising on filing strategy for trade marks and designs
- Overseeing portfolio management, including applications, renewals, recordals, and dealing with citations, examination reports and watch notices
- Preparing clearance reports, drafting specifications and assignments
- Managing international prosecution via national registries and WIPO
- Handling opposition and cancellation actions, including drafting pleadings, submissions, witness statements and inter partes correspondence
- Coordinating evidence collection and supporting settlement discussions
- Contributing to supervision of junior colleagues and maintaining high standards of accuracy and file management
Applicants should be UK‑qualified (CITMA) with solid experience of trade mark and design portfolio management and experience of having dealt with various trade mark registries. This role will suit those with 3+ years post qualified experience.
