Leveraged Finance Associate (2–6 PQE) – Magic Circle Firm | London
We are currently instructed by a leading Magic Circle law firm to support the growth of its highly regarded Leveraged Finance team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious and driven associates to join a top-tier practice working on some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in the market.
The Role
As a mid-level Associate, you will work across a broad range of international leveraged finance transactions, including:
- Acquisition financings, refinancings, and strategic financings, particularly for private equity and financial sponsor clients
- Drafting and negotiating key documentation, including facilities agreements, intercreditor agreements, and security packages
- Coordinating cross-border transactions and working closely with colleagues across corporate, tax, competition, and other specialist teams
The Team
The Leveraged Finance group sits within a top-tier Global Transactions practice, alongside leading private equity, M&A, corporate finance, and real estate teams.
The team is known for advising on large, complex leveraged buyouts and financing structures for an elite client base, including private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, and infrastructure investors.
The London practice offers a truly international platform, with a strong mix of English and New York law capability and deep expertise across:
- Cross-border European and US financings
- Bank/bond and hybrid structures
- Unitranche, senior/mezzanine, and high yield transactions
- Back-leverage and structured financing arrangements
You will work as part of an integrated global team, collaborating with colleagues across Europe, the US, and Asia on market-leading deals.
Candidate Profile
- 2–6 PQE with strong leveraged finance experience (borrower/sponsor or lender side) from a leading law firm
- Excellent technical and commercial acumen
- Qualified in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within high-performing teams
- A proactive approach to client relationships, business development, and internal collaboration
