Financial Crime Risk Manager - Segment Lead Payments

London based (4 days in office 1 from home)


A global financial services firm is seeking an experienced Financial Crime Risk Manager (Payments) to join its growing risk function. The organisation operates internationally with a strong presence across global markets and provides a wide range of services to both institutional and retail clients.



Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess financial crime risks associated with new business initiatives, system changes, and process improvements
  • Partner with project teams and business stakeholders to ensure financial crime risk considerations are embedded within change initiatives
  • Act as a central point of contact for financial crime risk queries across the organisation
  • Provide oversight and guidance to ensure consistent client onboarding, review, and monitoring standards
  • Support the design and implementation of controls and processes to mitigate financial crime risk
  • Collaborate with teams across Operations, Risk, Finance, and Regulatory functions
  • Deliver financial crime risk training and awareness across the business
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the organisation’s financial crime risk framework


Experience Required

  • Strong experience within financial crime risk management in a regulated financial services environment
  • Solid understanding of AML, financial crime prevention frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies
  • Experience supporting control improvements, risk assessments, or regulatory remediation initiatives
  • Ability to apply a risk-based approach and exercise sound judgement
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
  • Must have payments experience

Qualifications (Desirable)
