Field Service/Maintenance Planner - Warehouse Automation Equipment

Location: Milton Keynes

Contract: 6–12 Months

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Planner to support a national team of travelling Service Engineers working across the UK on advanced warehouse automation equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment and excels at coordinating preventative maintenance schedules for a busy field service operation.


The Role

As the Field Service Planner, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and allocating preventative maintenance tasks for a team of mobile Service Engineers. You’ll ensure all visits are coordinated efficiently, routes are optimised, and customers receive high‑quality service support across the country.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance (PPM) activities for field-based Service Engineers
  • Coordinate UK‑wide engineer movements, routes, and visit timings
  • Manage and maintain service schedules within the CMMS
  • Liaise with customers to arrange site access and confirm service windows
  • Monitor engineer utilisation and adjust workloads where required
  • Update documentation, job packs, and service records accurately
  • Support reactive rescheduling where emergencies arise
  • Ensure all planned work supports asset reliability and customer expectations


About You

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Strong background in field service planning, ideally within engineering, automation, or technical services
  • Experience scheduling engineers travelling across the UK
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills
  • Proficiency in CMMS or service-planning platforms
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to prioritise dynamically
  • Clear communication skills, both with engineers and customers
