Contract Lead Business Analyst / Product Owner

Insurance Transformation Programme | Outside IR35

We are supporting a private equity–backed insurance business that is investing heavily in technology and operational transformation.

They are looking for a Lead Business Analyst / Product Owner to join a key programme focused on improving core business processes and simplifying system integrations.

This role will suit someone comfortable operating in entrepreneurial environments, where clarity, ownership and delivery matter more than rigid process.

The successful hire will act as the lead BA within the team, working directly with stakeholders and an offshore development team to translate business needs into deliverable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis across a core transformation programme
• Map and improve key business processes across underwriting and risk workflows
• Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria and backlog priorities
• Work closely with product owners, developers and business stakeholders
• Support agile sprint cadence and delivery governance
• Help simplify complex workflows and reduce system integrations

Experience Required

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Experience operating as a Lead or Solo Business Analyst
• Strong experience working in mature agile delivery environments
• Proven ability to translate business needs into clear user stories and technical deliverables
• Experience working with engineering teams (often offshore)
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving, entrepreneurial or PE-backed environments

Required Industry Experience

• Insurance sector experience
• Exposure to underwriting, risk or policy administration workflows
• Experience working within private equity portfolio companies or scale-up environments

Engagement Details

• Circa £600 per day
• Outside IR35
• Immediate programme need (client can wait ~4 weeks for the right hire)
