Head of Legal & Compliance Operations (including AI) - London (minimum 1 day a week in office)

A unique opportunity has arisen to join a regulated, FTSE 250, consumer-facing business at a pivotal stage in its evolution. This is a newly created leadership role designed to drive transformation, efficiency, and innovation across the function.

This is not a purely strategic role. The successful candidate will need to be hands-on, comfortable rolling their sleeves up, and excited by the challenge of building, improving, and embedding best-in-class processes in a fast-moving environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for shaping and delivering the legal and compliance operations strategy, with a particular focus on leveraging technology and AI to improve effectiveness, manage risk, and support business growth. Working closely with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and the wider business, you will play a key role in modernising how the function operates.

Key areas of focus include:

• Driving legal and compliance operational excellence across a regulated environment
• Implementing and optimising legal tech and AI tools
• Improving processes, workflows, and reporting capabilities
• Supporting risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks
• Managing external counsel relationships and spend
• Enhancing data-driven decision-making within the function

This role will suit someone who combines strategic thinking with a highly practical, delivery-focused mindset.

• Significant previous experience in hands-on legal operations.
• Strong interest in and experience with legal tech and AI-driven solutions
