Civil Water Engineer

Hours - 37.5 per week

Hybrid Working


A leading global engineering and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Civil Water Engineer to join its multidisciplinary design team. The successful candidate will join a high performing engineering team responsible for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across a range of major infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate or manage a team of Civil Water Engineers delivering technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Deliver high quality engineering solutions across areas such as hydraulics, wastewater and clean water infrastructure, water reuse and pipeline design
  • Produce and review technical deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings and scopes of work
  • Provide technical input into project design and support project teams in managing programme timelines and budgets
  • Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines and wider project teams to deliver integrated design solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting capability development within the team
  • Work independently where required, applying sound engineering judgement to solve complex technical challenges
  • Contribute technical expertise to bid and proposal submissions
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes, including checking and reviewing both personal and team deliverables


Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience coordinating or managing civil water engineering design delivery within a consultancy environment
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams across complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including collaboration with contractors and delivery teams
  • Practical experience in risk management, design coordination and quality assurance processes
  • Strong knowledge of current engineering standards, codes and best practice within water infrastructure design
  • Ability to work independently and apply engineering judgement to technical challenges
  • Demonstrated experience within the water sector
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive, collaborative and motivated approach to delivering high quality engineering outcomes
